R.I.P. Alexander McQueen!

Alexander McQueen was found dead at his home on Green Street, London W1, this morning where paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. A statement released by his office on 11 February 2010 - referring to the designer by his given first name, Lee, read: "On behalf of Lee McQueen's family, Alexander McQueen today announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand, has been found dead at his home." McQueen's death came days before London Fashion Week, although McQueen was not scheduled to show in the British capital.

On 3 February 2010, he wrote on his Twitter page that his mother had died the day before, adding: "RIP mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx." Four days later he wrote that he had had an "awful week" but said "friends have been great", adding: "now i have to some how pull myself together."

So tragic! Another genius/amazing person is gone. I always loved how quirky and fun McQueen managed to be on the runway and off. He was always a breath of fresh air around stuck up fashion types. He will be missed!

Meet Anthony Williams, of Project Runway Season 7!

University of Alabama graduate, Anthony Williams, did not expect his life to change in the middle of a busy work day at Neiman Marcus, but the producers at Project Runway did.
On Thursday night, Williams took a break from his now hectic schedule to watch the latest episode of Project Runway with his fans and local media on campus at Doster Hall. Williams was born and raised in Birmingham, Ala which for local Project Runway fans was a pleasant surprise when they began watching Season 7.

Despite what viewers think of Anthony Williams all agree that his personality is not an act. As he often says, he is the same on television as he is in person. Williams’ fans at Doster and across the country continue to show their support--- and will continue to do so even after he is eliminated.
